Point/Miles Conversion Chart

Pros

  • Points plus cash award option

Cons

  • Fuel surcharges
  • Expensive award prices
  • Limited amount of partners

Excellent for

  • Short flights from Tel Aviv start from 300 miles in Economy one way.
  • Flights within Australia on Qantas start at 350 miles in Economy and 700 in Business.

Insider Tip

  • One of the few programs where upgrades may be a better value than awards: A one-way upgrade from Economy to Business from New York to Tel Aviv starts at 1,400 points where Business to First on the same flight costs about 1,800 points.
  • When looking to fly El Al, also check for awards through Qantas’ program as they often offer better deals due to better conversion rates with US credit card mega reward programs. Keep in mind, you can only use Qantas miles for yourself or family members.

Hi Margalit Raviv! Thank you for your comment!
Please note Matmid frequent flyer number consists of 7-9 digits. To update points from flights that were not registered in your Matmid please login in the account on EL AL website site and type in the flight details. The missing flight points will be updated by a Service Center representative within 10 work days from receipt of the request. Points can be credited for flights that took place during the previous 12 months, conditional on your having been Matmid members at the time of the flight.
