True Blue

Program overview

TrueBlue is the frequent flyer program of JetBlue which serves over 100 destinations throughout the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean. JetBlue’s TrueBlue program award pricing follows ticket published price with dynamic pricing so there are no great finds there but it is simple and predictable. Hawaiian Airlines is TrueBlue’s only partner. Redemptions for American Airlines flights are expected to be added in the future.

Point/Miles Conversion Chart

Pros

  • Points never expire
  • Many credit card partners
  • Good for domestic trips

Cons

Excellent for

  • One way in Economy from the West Coast of the USA to Hawaii on Hawaiian Airlines starts at 22,000 miles.
  • Their Mint cabin is the best Business Class service for domestic US flights and relatively reasonably priced.

Insider Tip

  • If you fly JetBlue a lot and use their points a lot, get a co-branded credit card as the benefits exceed those of transfer partners. Amex and Citi points are generally better spent on other awards. Chase does not partner with Jetblue but Chase Sapphire Reserve  users will get a similar exchange rate to Amex and Citi by using Chase Travel with a 50% bonus.
