In Skytrax’s 2023 list of the best airlines around the globe, Singapore Airlines was trailed by Qatar Airways, All Nippon Airways (ANA), Emirates, and Japan Airlines in terms of ranking.

Best Low-Cost Airline
AirAsia once again won the Skytrax award for the Best Low-Cost Airline. This is the carrier’s 14th time winning, solidifying its position as the preferred choice for travelers, as it consistently offers affordable fares and flight promotions for its customers.
According to Skytrax CEO, Edward Plaisted, “AirAsia is a survey passenger favorite and has delivered a remarkable degree of consistency year-on-year since the World's Best Low-Cost Airline category was introduced to the awards programme in 2010.”
Aside from being crowned as the world’s best low-cost airline, AirAsia was also cited as Asia’s bust low-cost carrier.

Best Family-Friendly Airline
Skytrax recognized Air Canada as the best family-friendly option for flying because of its family seating policies, special check-in facilities, priority boarding, children's meals, amenities, toys, onboard entertainment, free checked luggage, and support for carrying baby items.
Meanwhile, Emirates and Virgin Atlantic were cited as the best family-friendly airlines in the Middle East and Europe respectively.
Best Inflight Entertainment
Skytrax cited Cathay Pacific Airways for having outstanding inflight entertainment options such as movies, TV shows, music, and games as well as Wi-Fi connectivity.
The Hong Kong-based carrier is known for providing extensive inflight entertainment services with a vast selection of movies and TV shows from around the world..
Best Business Class
Skytrax hailed Qatar Airways’ business class as the best one in the world. This doesn’t come as a surprise for the carrier since this is the tenth time it won the award in that particular category.
According to Skytrax’s CEO, Qatar Airways is a customer favorite because of its ability to deliver exceptional business class services including comfortable private spaces, lie-flat beds, world-class cuisine, and luxurious amenities.
Best Long Haul Low-Cost Airline
Scoot, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, was chosen as the best long haul flight low-cost option due to its affordable prices. In fact, this is the third time in a row that the carrier received Skytrax's top award for this category.
