The US finally reopens its doors to foreign visitors

18 Oct 2021

The US finally reopens its doors to foreign visitors.  The ban on visitors from the EU, UK, India, Brazil, and South Africa will end. From 08 November 2021, fully vaccinated foreigner travelers (including the UK and those in the European Union) will be allowed to enter the US once again. The Biden administration announced the news over the weekend. This will also apply to international air travel and travel across the Southwest and Northern land borders with Mexico and Canada.

Fully vaccinated travelers (with some exceptions for unvaccinated travelers, which will be announced soon) will be required to show proof of an approved vaccination and a negative COVID test taken within three days before scheduled departure; no quarantine will be necessary. A negative COVID test will not be required for travelers crossing the borders by land.

All FDA-approved and authorized vaccines and all vaccines that have an Emergency Use Listing (EUL) from the WHO will be accepted for air travel.

As of today, there are seven approved vaccines: Pfizer, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Sinopharm, Johnson&Johnson, Sinovac, and Covishield.

Notably missing from the list is the Russian Sputnik vaccine which is still under review by WHO.
